{"id":4280,"date":"2025-12-03T20:09:33","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T00:09:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crfc-fcrc.ca\/?p=4280"},"modified":"2025-12-09T13:37:50","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T17:37:50","slug":"applications-for-the-2025-2027-changing-narratives-fund-local-journalism-initiative-are-now-being-accepted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crfc-fcrc.ca\/en\/applications-for-the-2025-2027-changing-narratives-fund-local-journalism-initiative-are-now-being-accepted\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications for the 2025-2027 Changing Narratives Fund-Local Journalism Initiative are now being accepted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>December 3, 2025 &#8211; OTTAWA, ON<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Community Media Coalition, represented by the Community Radio Fund of Canada, is pleased to announce that applications for the 2025-2027 round of the Changing Narratives Fund-Local Journalism Initiative (CNF-LJI) are now being accepted.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Changing Narratives Fund (CNF) is a new initiative that will prioritize the hiring of Indigenous, Black, racialized, ethnoreligious minority, persons with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQIA+ journalists in media organizations to produce original, local civic journalism for underserved communities across Canada. These journalists will participate in mentoring, training, and other professional development activities to promote growth and advancement at all career levels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applications for the CNF-LJI program will be accepted <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mycrfc-monfcrc.smapply.io\/prog\/cnf-fdv\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">via our online portal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\nImportant dates and deadlines:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">December 3, 2025 &#8211; Applications Open\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">December 21, 2025 &#8211; Applications Close<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">December 22, 2025 &#8211; January 16, 2026 &#8211; Assessment and Selection Process<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">January 19, 2026 &#8211; Notification of results<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nOrganizations interested in applying to CNF-LJI should review <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/crfc-fcrc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/CNF-FDV-_-LJI-IJL-2025-2027-Program-Guidelines-_-Lignes-directrices-2.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the program guidelines<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and all other documentation carefully.
