39 Stations To Receive Funding From The Community Radio Fund of Canada

The Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRFC) is proud to announce that 39 campus and community radio stations will receive project-based funding through the 2025-2026 Radiometres program.

Launched in 2012, Radiometres aims to strengthen the campus-community broadcasting sector through the development of Canadian Content. The program targets three main priorities: content creation, skills development, and digital initiatives.

CJUM in Winnipeg, MB, is one of the recipient stations of Radiometres this cycle. “Liminal Frequencies” is a 10-episode audio series and accompanying podcast by Coulee Cross that blends immersive sound and speculative storytelling to amplify Indigenous voices and futures.

“UMFM is so excited to be working with an award-winning producer and storyteller like Coulee Cross on the Liminal Frequencies project,” said CJUM Station Manager Jared McKetiak. “Throughout, Cross will continue to elevate Indigenous voices by creating compelling original content, fostering skill development through workshops, and establishing a dedicated online space for Indigenous futurist storytelling.  UMFM is so thankful to Radiometres and the Community Radio Fund of Canada for the opportunity to continue to promote, produce, and tell these important stories!”

Thanks to Radiometres funding, CKMN in Rimouski, QC, will be transforming the station into a multimedia organization by strengthening its online presence and upgrading its studio.

“It is with enthusiasm and gratitude that FLO FM 96.5 thanks the CRFC for its investment of $35,000 in our project, ‘Le FLO numérique,’” said Station Manager Kédina Fleury-Samson. “This contribution ensures an optimal launch of the station in the digital era, notably by setting up a podcast studio and hiring digital development assistance.”

The CRFC wishes to acknowledge and thank commercial radio stations that, through their contributions to Canadian Content Development, provide the critical funding to make this program possible.
