Our Community Headline
With its project Our Community Headline, CiTR-FM sought to improve their local current affairs programming, with a focus on presenting perspectives and coverage that are not found in other media outlets. The station hired a Current Affairs Coordinator who worked to create relationships with diverse groups and members of their community, train and mentor volunteers, and oversee the increase and improvement of current affairs content.
“This project enabled us to take an in-depth look at best practices for reporting the stories of marginalized group, and we will continue to provide training and documentation in these areas”, says Station Manager Hugo Noriega.
