OTTAWA (January 6, 2024) – The Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRFC) has launched Radiometres, a yearly project-based funding program designed to strengthen the impact of the Canadian campus-community broadcasting sector.
Now in its 15th round, Radiometres is available to all Canadian not-for-profit radio stations that hold a valid CRTC campus or community broadcasting license. Applicants can seek up to $35,000 for a project that upholds one of three program priorities:
- Content Creation: This priority is intended for any project that aims to create musical and/or spoken word programming for your station (i.e., launching a daily drivetime program, producing a radio and/or podcast series, presenting a live music performance series)
- Skills Development: This priority is intended for any project aimed at improving the station’s ability to fulfill its mission through skills development (i.e., training workshops, creating a volunteer training guide, achieving radio operation process)
- Digital Initiatives: This priority is intended for any project that involves the establishment or improvement of digital programming production and distribution systems (i.e., upgrading your station’s website to improve content distribution, adding a smartphone or tablet application to a station’s digital offering)
The deadline to submit applications is Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 3:00PM ET. Applications are submitted via the CRFC’s online portal, SM Apply. Unfortunately, late applications will not be considered.
Program Officer Anta Basse Dial is available to offer applicants additional information, including feedback on draft applications. All applicants are invited to book a one-on-one meeting with Anta by using this link: https://rm2526.youcanbook.me
The CRFC would like to acknowledge the support of Canada’s private broadcasters who fund Radiometres every year through a portion of their Content Creation Development contributions.
