CHQC-FM, a community station in Saint John, NB, established a daily local news program for the French-speaking community of the region. Not only did they broadcast several news reports each day, they also made themselves visible at local events and shared information of interest to its listeners on social media.
“Journalistic projects have positive and beneficial effects on French-minority regions,” according to Jason Ouellette, station manager of CHQC-FM.
