The Community Radio Fund of Canada welcomes Geneviève Has to its Board of Directors

OTTAWA, ON (January 17, 2024) – The Community Radio Fund of Canada is excited to announce that Geneviève Has has been elected to our board of directors for a 2-year term.

With a strong background in rural community development, Has is a committed volunteer for many organizations around the Outaouais, and has a specific interest in media particularly related to the role of media in local news and information.

“I’d like the opportunity to put my skills to good use in a supraregional context, and thus contribute to strengthening community broadcasting both provincially and nationally. In a context of information globalization, a strong and diversified local offering is essential to the well-being of our communities,” said Geneviève Has.

Has is currently the Director of Administration and Communications at Corporation de développement communautaire du Pontiac after significant experience in administration and communications for community development organizations in her region.

Has is well-versed in strategic planning, governance, HR, finance, and grants and community program financing.

Has is also committed to supporting organizations that work on behalf of francophones across Canada and will be among the directors who bring that critical background to the board of the CRFC.

“Geneviève has an exemplary record of community service.  She has a background in media along with a strong interest in culture, housing, public financing, and social development,” said CRFC Board Vice President Nathan Wright. “We look forward to working with her to support community, Indigenous, and campus stations across Canada.”

The board of the CRFC looks forward to working with Has to ensure all community, Indigenous, and campus stations have the support they need.
