The CRFC announces Amplifying Voices, a new funding stream for Indigenous broadcasters

OTTAWA, ON (January 23, 2024) – The Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRFC) is happy to announce Amplifying Voices, a new funding stream to support Indigenous broadcasters in strengthening Indigenous language content at the local level. 

The goals of the program are to :

  • Improve Indigenous Language Content produced by Indigenous radio broadcasters
  • Increase Indigenous Language Content produced by Indigenous radio broadcasters
  • Contribute to the preservation, promotion, and revitalization of Indigenous languages and cultures
  • Impact the communities served by Indigenous broadcasters

All Indigenous Type B radio stations are eligible for the program and can receive up to $20,000 for multi-year programming initiatives. Applications will be reviewed by a jury of Indigenous language experts, authors, producers, and broadcasters. 

The CRFC will be accepting applications via its portal until Friday March 7th at 3:00PM ET. Late applications will unfortunately not be considered.
