Alex Freedman
Alex Freedman comes to the CRFC with many years of executive management experience related to broadcast journalism, national non-profit organizations, and post-secondary education institutions. He also brings several years of frontline work as a journalist and senior producer to his new position.
Most recently Mr. Freedman was Deputy Chief of Staff to the National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations in Ottawa. Previously, Mr. Freedman was Chief of Staff to the President of Laurentian University located in Sudbury, Ontario. From 2005 to 2013, he worked firstly as an investigative reporter for The National and for CBC Winnipeg, and later as Senior Producer and Bureau Chief for the CBC in Québec City.

Emmanuel Sayer
Programs Director
Emmanuel got his start in community radio in 1998 at CJAM in Windsor co-hosting a weekly overnight program as a teenager. He later got involved at CHUO 89.1 FM in Ottawa as a volunteer contributor in 2004 then as the station’s longest running Program Director from 2010 until 2019.
He is incredibly passionate about campus / community radio and has attended several National Campus & Community Radio Conferences (2012 – 2019) including hosting the 35th annual NCRC in Ottawa (2017) where he participated in a panel about Multi-Contributor Programming Models.
His radio program City Slang won Best Syndicated Radio Program at the 2019 Community Radio Awards in Broadcast and Online at the 38th NCRC.

Anta Basse Dial
Program Officer
Anta began her post-secondary studies in Paris at the University Panthéon-Sorbonne, where she completed a master’s degree in Economics and International Development. Concerned about having a positive impact on those around her, she did several internships as a project coordinator in non-profit organizations such as the NGO Africa Unite in South Africa and the City of Trélazé in France.
She then decided to come to Canada, more precisely Toronto and obtained a post-graduate diploma in International Development at Centennial College. Before working for the Community Radio Fund of Canada, Anta worked for the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the Bell Fund.
Francella Fiallos
Program Officer and Communications Director
Francella Fiallos is a former broadcaster, arts administrator, and front-end web developer who has been involved in the campus-community radio sector for close to 10 years. She started as a volunteer at CKCU 93.1FM at Carleton University in Ottawa while she was completing her Bachelor of Journalism. Later, she worked at the National Campus and Community Radio Association before moving to Halifax to complete her Master’s in Journalism at the University of King’s College. During her studies, Francella refined her newsgathering skills with some of the top reporters in the country while developing the skills to assess the Canadian news climate and its future.
She worked at CKDU 88.1FM as its Programming and Development Director for two years. Most recently, she served as the Station Manager at CJLO 1690AM, Concordia University’s radio station in Montreal, Quebec.
