OTTAWA, ON (January 15, 2024) – The Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRFC) is excited to welcome Karl Alary to its board of directors.
Alary is a dynamic professional who is passionate about broadcasting and his community. He is committed to leveraging the power of data to improve services to Canadians and the communities in which they live.
Alary has extensive experience with the federal government having served in various policy and technology roles with the Parks Canada Agency, the Canada Food Inspection Agency, and the Privy Council Office. He is currently serving as a data policy analyst at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
“I am honoured to assume the role of Director of the Community Radio Fund of Canada. Drawing upon my expertise from both the public sector and academia, I am committed to leveraging my skills and experiences to foster success for community radios on which thousands of Canadians rely on for information, for education, and for entertainment,” said Karl Alary.
Alary earned a Bachelor of Commerce Honours with a law minor at Carleton University and has prior experience in governance and policy compliance, serving on various governance and leadership committees at work, at school, and in the community. He is currently serving as Vice-chairperson on the Board of the Carleton University Students’ Association Inc.
With an emphasis on human relations and development, he has helped improve the student experience both on and off campus at a national level through his work as a student leader and his new projects with the Government of Canada Federal Youth Network and the GC Students Network.

Alary was elected to a 2-year term by members at the AGM held on November 21st.
